About Quad-pol Viewer

Quad-pol Viewer is a software for analysing quad polarimetric SAR data and displaying its images.

Quad porarimetric SAR data is aquired in full polarimetoric mode(HH+HV+VH+VV).
Several images are processed from the magnitude and phase of SAR data.
We can get more information from quad porarimetric SAR data.

Having been (involved) in the space-related software development for many years, we at Research Institute of Systems Planning, Inc./ISP have accumulated and enhanced knowlede and skills.
Recently we ventured into new field, SAR data analysis, for greater enhancement.

We have implemented several analysis algorisms with the cooperation of many SAR experts.
We are distributing this version free of charge to enhance this software based on feedbacks from many SAR experts and users.

We thank Yoshio Yamaguchi, Professor at Niigata University, for his support and valuable advices during the development of this software.

Quad-pol Viewer allows users to browse through any full polarimetry product, which data is acquired by the Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) on the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) (“Daich” in Japanese).
The following data are available for Quad-pol Viewer.

• ERSDAC Level 1.1(VEXCEL) ※Only polarimetric mode.
• ERSDAC Level 4.1(CEOS) ※It is available to download sample data from ERSDAC web site.
• JAXA Level 1.1(CEOS) ※Only polarimetric mode.

You can select an analysis mode as follows:

• HV Basis(R:HH, G:HV, B:VV)
• Pauli Basis(R:HH-VV, G:HV, B:HH+VV)
• Eigenvalue Analysis(Alpha-Entropy Decomposition)
• 4 Component Decomposition
